Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you're here.
Your decision to visit this page means that there is something inside of you that knows you can look and feel better than you currently do, and you are ready to start taking steps (even if they're baby steps!) in the direction of those goals.
My name is May Anne Jordens-LaFlamme, and I'm a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, a former personal trainer, a mom and a wife.
One of the reason I am driven to do what I do is because I went way too many years feeling incredibly tired and because of that almost constant lack of energy, I felt like I was missing out on enjoying the life right in front of me.
I didn't have the energy or motivation to really enjoy life to the fullest. I also knew deep inside me that I wasn't meant to stay stuck feeling this way, and that there was so much more I could enjoy in life if I only felt healthier, stronger and more energetic.
Now, 20 years later, I have more energy than I feel I know what to do with sometimes (and it drives my husband crazy because I'm always busy doing something!) and I am so grateful to feel like I'm living my life to the fullest. I never would have thought that in my late 40's I would feel as good as I do, and I had no idea how good I was meant to feel until I started making changes.
It didn't happen at all once and it wasn't just one thing that made all the difference. It was a combination of diet, mindset and lifestyle changes - a holistic approach.
This is why I include all three of these in my programs and my recommendations, and is also why I am so against fad diets, temporary quick fixes and diets that include eliminating whole food groups, because these are all temporary and as soon as you stop, the results will also stop.
These temporary programs do NOTHING for our health and only set women up for rebound weight gain, hormone imbalances, damaging our metabolism, disappointment and a sense of failure.
My focus is on a holistic approach to wellbeing: Mind, Diet and Lifestyle, as each part affects us as a whole, and this is why all of my programs are HEALTH-FOCUSED, LIFESTYLE-BASED.
If your body needs to shed weight, then that will happen as a natural result of following a lifestyle-based plan, and you won't have to worry about losing your results because you will continue on a healthy lifestyle, adopting more positive changes as you go. It's a journey!
This is also why there is no failing...you simply pick yourself back up and keep going. We focus on progress, not perfection.
